Conduct a sample survey using stratified sampling, 1- or 2-stage cluster sampling, or systematic sampling (choose one sampling design) and prepare a slide presentation to present your work. Your project can be done by administering a survey or through direct observation. Your project must be approved by me before you start working on it. Your project should address the following issues:
Introduction: This section gives information about the population to be sampled, what will be measured, and why the sample is being taken. What is the research question(s)?
Sampling Design: Identify the key terms - what are the elements, population, sampling units, and frame? What sampling designs did you consider (list more than just your final choice), and which design did you choose? Explain why you chose your design.
Methods, Implementation Details: Discuss exactly how you drew your random sample. Also attach a copy of key sections of computer code.
Analysis: Include one or more graphical displays of your data. Present the results of your analyses, with clear explanations.
Conclusion: Interpret your results, and give conclusions about your research question(s). Mention any new insights you had about sampling while doing the project. Presentation: You will present your project results via poster presentation to the class (more details to come). The presentation should include all the above issues. Presentations will be during the last regular class and/or final exam period (Dates link). You will also be required to turn in a PPT version of your project as well, uploaded into BbLearn (it is 5% of your project grade).
